Wikipedia - Division One League, Ghana

The Division One League, currently known as the Access Bank Division One League for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier football league in Ghana organized by the Ghana Football Association. The winner of each of the three zones will be promoted to the Ghana Premier League.

Ghana - Division 1 er den andre øverste fotballigaen i Ghana. Den består av 48 lag fordelt på tre forskjellige divisjoner i nord, sør og midten.

Ligaen ble etablert i 1956 og har vært en viktig del av ghanesisk fotballs utviklingssystem. Flere kjente ghanesiske fotballspillere har startet karrieren sin i Division 1, inkludert Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien og Sulley Muntari.

Hvert lag spiller 30 kamper i løpet av en sesong, og de tre beste lagene fra hver divisjon rykker opp til Premier League. De tre dårligste lagene fra hver divisjon rykker ned til Division 2.

Division 1 er en tøff og konkurransedyktig liga, og den er preget av fysisk og teknisk fotball. Det er alltid en spennende kamp å se, og fansen er alltid lidenskapelige og støttende.
